Important note when you submit your Vietnam evisa request by yourself on Vietnam Immigration national website: https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/trang-chu-ttdt

o It is crucial for applicants to ensure that all the details provided in the visa application form on the Vietnam Immigration Department website are accurate, as even a minor error (one digit or letter wrong) can result in the rejection of the visa or prevent you from boarding your flight at the departure airport.

o To our experience, it is allowed to switch between International airports with an E-visa, but it's recommended to confirm with the airline beforehand. Some airlines will not let you board if the airport in the e-visa does not match your actual arrival airport.

o Switching between land ports or seaports is not permitted. You will have to go through the exact entry checkpoint noted on your e-visa when entering by land or sea. It's essential to arrive early at the departures for any unforeseen circumstances.

Option 2: Vietnam Visa on arrival for USA

This is also an online way to get Vietnam visa. USA passport holders will work with a visa agent in Vietnam to get the visa approval letter issued by Vietnam Immigration Department. At the Vietnam international airport, you submit that letter along with Vietnamese visa application form, a portrait photo and pay for the stamping fee to get Vietnam visa stamped on passport.

Before Covid, this visa option seems to be the fastest and simplest option for obtaining Vietnam visa. However, after Covid, getting Vietnam visa on arrival is no longer a preference as it takes much longer time, normally within 5-7 working days to get Vietnam visa letter approved. Also, service fee of Vietnam visa approval letter become much higher than in the past.

Pros:
Right now in 2023, we only recommend this option for those who need to get multiple entry in Vietnam within 30 days and they have sufficient time for processing.

Cons:
Vietnam visa on arrival is only granted for air travelers. If you travel by land or by sea, you must obtain a Vietnam visa code or get Vietnam visa sticker at Vietnam Embassy in advance.
