Everything You Need to Know Before Heading to T3 Terminal at Tan Son Nhat Airport

Apr 23, 2025 304 Views
Starting from April 17th, 2025, the brand-new T3 Terminal at Tan Son Nhat International Airport officially opens its doors, handling its first domestic flights. To ensure a smooth and convenient airport experience, here’s what you need to know before getting to T3.

About T3 Terminal

T3 Terminal is now Vietnam’s largest domestic passenger terminal, with a designed capacity of 20 million passengers per year. With a total investment of nearly VND 11,000 billion, the terminal is being developed by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV). It’s located next to T1 Terminal, with its main entrance facing the Tran Quoc Hoan – Cong Hoa connecting road.

The terminal’s design is inspired by the flowing shape of the Vietnamese Ao Dai, symbolizing grace and elegance. It features one basement and four above-ground floors, covering a total floor area of 112,500 square meters, and includes a passenger terminal, a multi-storey parking building, elevated roads, and aircraft parking areas.

Airlines Operating at T3 Terminal

From now on:
  • Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air operate all domestic flights at T3 Terminal.
  • Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and VASCO continue operating at T1 Terminal.
Make sure to check your flight and terminal information carefully to avoid going to the wrong terminal.

How to Get to T3 Terminal

Depending on your location, here are the most convenient routes to reach the T3 Terminal:

From T1 Terminal: Go straight on Truong Son Street, then turn onto Phan Thuc Duyen Street to reach T3.

From Ho Chi Minh City center: Head along Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, continue onto Nguyen Van Troi Street, pass Hoang Van Thu Park, then take the Tran Quoc Hoan connecting road leading to T3.

From Thu Duc City (East HCMC): Take Pham Van Dong Boulevard, turn onto Truong Son Street, and follow the Tran Quoc Hoan road to T3.

From the West and South of HCMC (An Suong, Tan Ky, Tan Quy, Tan Phu, Binh Tan, Binh Chanh): Use Cong Hoa Street and turn onto Tran Quoc Hoan road.

From the Truong Chinh area: Head to Cong Hoa Street, then turn onto the extended Hoang Hoa Tham Street or 18E Street to access T3.

Transportation Options to T3 Terminal

Passengers can get to the T3 Terminal by various means:
  • Electric shuttle buses operate between terminals every 20 minutes, providing easy connections from T1 and T2 to T3.
  • Ride-hailing apps, taxis, and public buses such as 109, 152, 72-1, and 103 also serve the area near T3 Terminal. Among them, Bus 109 is a popular option.
  • Private vehicles can be parked at the T1 parking lot, and then take a shuttle bus to T3.
Important Notes
  • Check your flight details and departure terminal carefully before going to the airport.
  • Follow airport signs and use ride-hailing apps to select the correct pick-up/drop-off points.
  • Arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight for check-in and security procedures.
  • In case you accidentally go to the wrong terminal, ask airport staff for assistance or quickly book a ride to T3.
  • During peak hours, plan extra travel time to avoid traffic congestion.
  • If you have a connecting or transit flight, we recommend allowing a gap of at least 2.5 to 3 hours between flights to avoid overload or delays, especially since the airport can be quite busy.
Also, it’s a good idea to check your flight status, check-in counters, and boarding gates via your airline’s website or app in advance.

If you’d like to skip the hassle, VietnamvisaVOA also offers the Car Fast Track service to get you to the terminal quickly and comfortably. With a variety of vehicles in classes including Economy, Business, or Big Van, we provide both airport pick-up and drop-off services. Our drivers will greet you with a name tag at the airport Arrivals Hall, help you with your luggage, and escort you to your hotel. Feel free to contact us via:
