All of Vietnam railway stations are operated by national carrier, Vietnam Railway. The main route is the single - track - North – South railway line with 1726 km length between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city. Built in the 1880s during to French colonial, Vietnam railway system is quite an ageing service but it still provides a relaxing and valuable service.


Hanoi to Dong Dang route is the rail links between Vietnam and China and it is the most popular route between these 2 destinations. Besides, Hanoi to Hai Phong route, Hanoi to Quan Trieu, Kep to Ha Long and Kep to Luu Xa are lesser.

In the past, this train station was generally used for demanding of French Government to transport natural resources to port, then deliver to French. And it has become one of the most essential train stations in Vietnam where you can catch a train to go the north (Sapa, Lao Cai) or to the south (Ho Chi Minh city). Nowadays, Hanoi train station was upgraded and improved with many modern amenities such as: free wifi, comfortable chairs and some others.
