Thanks to policies to promote tourism, custom regulations in Vietnam nowadays are getting much simpler than ever before. However, as a wise traveler, you should pay attention to basic information about Vietnam custom regulations:

1. Requirement documents

To enter Vietnam, your passport must be valid for six months upon arrival in Vietnam. And you must apply for a Vietnam visa if you are not in the visa exemption list. Visa procedure can be simple but fast-changing. From 1st July 2016, 5 European countries continue to get Vietnam 15-day visa exemption for another year including UK, Italy, Spanish, French and Germany. The government has relaxed visa exemption rules to traffic them visiting Vietnam for tourism development and reduced visa fees.

For those who must get Vietnam visa as a tourist could apply for 1 month or 3 months single/ multiple entry visas. There are two methods of applying for a Vietnam visa: Getting Vietnam visa online done viavisa agents or getting visa at Vietnamese Embassy/ Consulate. All most travelers choose to arrive in Vietnam by air, since it is more convenient and they could get Vietnam visa on arrival just by submitting Vietnam visa request online before heading to Vietnam. All you need to do is to fill out an online application form at vietnamvisavoa.com and pay for service fee. After one or two working days, you'll then receive by email an approval visa letter signed by Vietnamese Immigration. You just need to print out and bring along to Vietnam International airports where your Vietnam visa will be stamped on your passport.

You can also obtain visas at Vietnam Embassy/ Consulate around the world. However, please note that fees are normally higher than getting visa online via a visa agent and depending upon the country, the procedure and fee would not be the same.
