How to get Vietnam visa extension and renewal?

Visa extension or visa renewal services are offered for those whose Vietnam visas have come close to expiration dates and still wish to stay longer. Extending Vietnam visa must be implemented some days before your visa expired date as it takes 7 working days to get your new visa issued by the Immigration Department.

Vietnam visa extension

This is one of ways helping you have new staying duration in Vietnam. Please remember that you are allowed to stay more in Vietnam without re-entering once you exit Vietnam. It means that you must apply for a new visa if you would like to come back Vietnam.

In order to apply visa extension, your current visa type has to be correspondent to your staying extending requirement.

• Stay in one more month: If your current visa is one month single, one month multiple, three month single or three month multiple entry visa, you are allowed to apply for visa extension in one more month.
• Stay in three more months: If your current visa is three month single or three month multiple entry visa, you can apply for visa extension in three more months.

Vietnam visa renewal

By doing this way you are granted a new visa stamp and visa sticker on your passport with the new duration permission. The staying length is valid in three months at maximum.

Visa renewal is ready for those who:

• Entered Vietnam with visa exemption
• Has current visa is not correspondent to your staying extending requirement. For example if you would like to upgrade your current visa from 1 month to 3 month, you have to apply to renew three month single entry or three month multiple entry.
• Wish to get multiple entry visa in one month and three months.

Get Vietnam visa extension or visa renewal

In order to apply your Vietnam visa extension or Vietnam visa renewal, please provide some necessary information as below to our email addresssupport@vietnamvisavoa.com.

• Passport scan
• Current visa scan
• Immigration stamp
• Latest date of entry
• Your current address in Vietnam

We will inform whether or not you can prolong your visa, what you have to do and how much you have to pay in detail.

In case you are applicable for lengthening the Vietnam visa, please send these following documents to our office:

• Your original passport
• Temporary residence paper approved by the hotel where you live at or approved by local authorities where you live.
• If you are Vietnamese overseas or your current visa is separate visa, you need to prepare two passport sized-photos 4x6cm with a straight forward face.

Note: If you are in Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi city, we can come in person to pick up your documents.

After 7 working days, you will get your passport back together with your new stamped visa.

Important notes

• You had better extend or renew your Vietnam visa at least 1 week - 2 weeks before your visa is expired to have enough time to solve any unexpected issues.
• Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have 2 blank pages in minimum.
• We only assist clients to renew or extend tourist and business Vietnam visa. Diplomatic and other types of visa must be carried out at the Vietnamese Immigration Department yourselves.
