Vietnamese visa is technically described as a compulsory travel document granted by Vietnamese competent authorities permitting foreigners entering Vietnam. This document is placed on your passport to be shown at the entry port upon your arrival to Vietnam.
Some international visitors are exempted from visa when entering Vietnam with certain duration of staying if they are citizens from Southeast Asia countries, some European countries or member countries of APEC, etc.

Vietnamese temporary resident card (TRC) is a required paper that foreigners have to get if they want to reside in Vietnam for a certain length of time with the aim of studying, doing business, working or other reasons. Obtaining Vietnam Temporary resident card, you would have chance to enter and exit Vietnam easily without a visa.
To get this resident card, foreigners have to submit some documents to the Vietnam Immigration Department and wait for 7-10 business days. Hence, it is essential to prepare them as soon as possible to get the resident card.
Vietnam Temporary Resident Card is mainly issued to two specific cases. The first one is for those who are officially employed by a company in Vietnam and provided with work permit. The second one is for those who are owners of Vietnamese company.
