Vietnam visa on arrival is an online method to apply for a visa to Vietnam. By doing this way, applicants will receive an approval letter issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department allowing them to get the visa stamp at Vietnam international airport. The application includes 4 steps as follows:
Step 1: Send visa request

Step 2: Get confirmation

Step 3: Get the visa approval letter.
You usually need to wait for 2 working days for normal service to get the visa approval letter via email. Double check all information on this letter then print it out. By submitting approval letter, you are allowed to board on plane and stamp Vietnam visa at Vietnam international airport.
Step 4: Get the visa stamped
As soon as you land in Vietnam, go ahead Landing Area at the airport and submit a file of documents including your passport, visa approval letter, the Vietnamese visa application form, 2 4*6cm passport-sized photos and pay for the stamping fee to get the visa stamped on passport.
When applying visa on arrival you can choose the processing time from 4 working hours to 2 working days depending on your demand. Of course the shorter the processing time is, the more visa fee you need to pay.

Bear in mind that you should contact the Embassy/ Consulate prior to showing up in person to ask about the opening time and visa requirements to save time and effort. Generally, it takes 5-7 working days to issue you visa then you can get back your passport with new visa on it.
Since February 1st, 2017, the Vietnam Immigration Department launched the Vietnam E-visa schemes to facilitate tourism development. According to the scheme, 80 countries are eligible to apply online for the 1-month single-entry tourist visa through the electronic system of Immigration Department. The non-refundable visa fee is 25 USD for all nationalities and the visa takes 3 working days to be issued.
